Sydney sets a Guinness World Record for the Biggest English Lesson in the World
For the first time in history on Friday 12 February, educational institutions, language colleges, and international students came together at Sydney’s Bondi Beach to set a world record for the largest English lesson delivered simultaneously in one location.
3000 international students from over 50 different countries gathered at the iconic Sydney location on Friday evening to take part in the event. The hour long lesson was led by Australia’s leading English Language Colleges and educational institutes, and was followed by a live band.
This event was truly unique in that students were encouraged to practise their English by the ocean, meet new people, enjoy the sunset at Bondi Beach to the sound of live music and make history in a fun environment.
StudyNSW is proud to support this event. StudyNSW provided co-funding through it's Partner Projects initiative to establish this event in partnership with English Australia. English Australia is the national peak body for the English language sector of international education in Australia.
Every year StudyNSW co-funds projects that are delivered in partnership with industry. StudyNSW supports partner projects that are strategic, innovative, demonstrate a strong benefit to the international education sector and focus on gaps not currently addressed by the sector. Check out the seven projects that received partner project funding in 2015/16.
