What is the Orientation event?

It's an opportunity to find out more about your course and the services and support available to assist you at Western Sydney University. You will also have an opportunity to meet your teachers (academics) and fellow students, and discover your campus. You can organise your student ID card, get timetable support and collect your Student Diary.

When is Orientation?

Orientation sessions and activities are usually held on campus two weeks before session starts.

Orientation for students commencing in Autumn 2019 will be held from 18-22 February 2019. Please take note of which day your Orientation will be held on.

Monday 18 February – Campbelltown and Liverpool campuses
Tuesday 19 February – Hawkesbury and Nirimba (The College) campus
Wednesday 20 February – Parramatta South and Parramatta City campuses
Thursday 21 February – Bankstown campus
Friday 22 February – Penrith (Kingswood) campus

Note: If you are studying a combined degree, it is advisable that you attend both Orientation sessions. For some students, these may be taking place on different campuses.

Campus and Library orientation

Following your Orientation session, you can take a campus tour with one of our Ask Us Assistants (senior students), to orientate you to services, facilities and important locations on your campus such as your School's building, the Co-Op retail store, cafeterias and Student Central. Be sure to also visit our state-of-the-art libraries to familiarise yourself with all the exciting services and assistance available there.

Free digital textbooks

If you are enrolled in first-year or Diploma units, your digital textbooks are free. Download or access your textbooks online, anytime and anywhere! For eligibility, and terms and conditions visit the textbooks (opens in new window) webpage.

Returning to learning
