Celebrating excellence in international student community engagement

About

The NSW International Student Awards recognise the outstanding contributions international students make to communities in NSW and celebrate excellence in international student community engagement.

In 2020, more than 260,000 international students enrolled in courses across NSW’s excellent education institutions, helping to make NSW the vibrant, multicultural and dynamic place that it is. Many international students become great ambassadors for NSW as future leaders and advocates for trade, diplomacy and research links. The NSW Government acknowledges their valuable contribution to the State and reaffirms its commitment to making their study experience in NSW the best it can be.

Nominations now open

Outstanding international students, education providers and organisations are being encouraged to submit their nominations for the 2021 NSW International Student Awards.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Industry and Trade John Barilaro said the awards are a crucial part of recognising the contribution of international students while the pandemic continues to challenge the international education sector.

“Study NSW’s annual awards are an opportunity to showcase the resilience and positive influence of international students and the education sector,” Mr Barilaro said.

“In 2020, over 260,000 international students studied with NSW education providers, bringing their talents and experiences into the classroom, in person and online.

“We should all be reminded that while the pandemic has certainly been a challenge to us all, we still have about 115,000 international students in NSW right now – actively learning, engaging and contributing a great deal to the NSW community.”
