Study NSW is offering six scholarships to current international students studying in New South Wales to attend the 9th CISA National Conference in Perth.

About the conference

The 9th Council of International Students Australia (CISA) National Conference will be held from Monday 15 to Friday 19 July 2019 in Perth, Western Australia. The national conference is an opportunity to engage and align international student leaders and international education experts in a forum that cements the vision for the future of international students in Australia.

The conference is about empowering international students and celebrating their contributions to the Australian community. The conference program has been devised with a focus to provide students with diverse information on topics that affect, concern, and benefit them, and hear the valued differences statewide and nationally.

About the scholarships

Study NSW is committed to enhancing the international student experience across the state and is a supporter of CISA. Study NSW and CISA encourage a wide representation of international students to attend the conference. There are six conference scholarships funded by Study NSW on offer to current international students studying in New South Wales. Expressions of interest will be assessed by a panel and all applicants will be advised of an outcome via email. International students that have participated in Study NSW supported programs will be viewed favorably.

Meet the 2019 Scholarship Recipients

Six international students will receive a scholarship from Study NSW to attend the 9th Council of International Students Australia (CISA) National Conference. The scholarship recipients are from Mexico, Philippines, India, Pakistan, Indonesia and Mongolia and represent six education providers across NSW.

Terms and conditions
  1. Binding decision: A decision of the NSW Department of Industry (Study NSW) in relation to the selection of CISA National conference scholarship recipients is binding and conclusive.
  2. Non-transferable: Conference equity scholarships are not transferable or redeemable for cash. No elements of the scholarships can be exchanged and the elements are at the sole discretion of Study NSW.
  3. Inclusions: Six equity scholarships valued at $2,000 will be awarded to international students. The scholarships are to support the cost of  return flights to Perth from the recipients' closest airport, five nights accommodation, conference registration, airport transfers, meals and conference social activities. Recipients may need to cover additional costs associated with attending the conference.
  4. No liability: With the exception of liability which cannot be excluded by law, NSW Department of Industry (Study NSW) is not liable for, and you release Study NSW from, liabilities relating to any direct or indirect loss or damage which is suffered, or for personal injury or sickness suffered or sustained, as a result of receiving the conference equity scholarship.

International students who submit an expression of interest for the CISA National Conference Scholarships must:

  1. Be currently enrolled with a registered education provider in New South Wales
  2. Be aged 18 years or over
  3. Have a current GPA of 5 or WAM of credit average or above
  4. Have not previously received a CISA conference equity scholarship from Study NSW
